The title should succinctly indicate the contents of the paper.   Be specific and descriptive of your study.

  • Use words that you would associate strongly with the content of your paper.
  • Be specific.
    • Ex. The Role of Fungal Toxins in Plant Disease instead of A Look at Fungal Toxins.
  • When searching for literature on a topic, readers often make a decision about whether to even open the paper based on the title, so it is important that your title be informative about the content of your paper.

The title should be placed at the top of the first page of the paper.  Do NOT include a separate title page.
